Summer is the Perfect Time to Start Pilates

Summer has become the season of procrastination. As children, we spent the summer running through the sprinklers, playing in lakes, and tearing up the neighbourhood from sunrise to sunset. As adults, we seem to cling to that feeling of no-responsibility (“l’ll start in September,” we say). But instead, we just laze about! Well guess what? Summer is the PERFECT time to start something new – especially if you want to start Pilates or Personal Training.

5 Reasons to Start Pilates this Summer

  1. You Have More Free Time. Summer is the time of staycations, no (or less) commitments with the kids’ activities, and work runs at a slower pace. Use these slower days to start Pilates, when it is easier to fit into your schedule.
  2. The Studio Has More Time. As my regular clients head off on their own vacations, the studio has more time to book Private Beginners Sessions – which give you a solid foundation to continue your classes. At the studio, we offer both Personal Training AND Pilates classes!
  3. You Have More Energy. The days are longer and brighter, bringing with them the feelings of happiness and energy. Use those feelings to your advantage, and start Pilates when you already feel amazing!
  4. Air-Conditioning! Take a break from the hot summer sun, and do some good for your body while you cool off in our air-conditioned studio. Ahhhh.
  5. The Power of Continuity. When everyone else is scrambling in September to get back into routines, you will already have your fitness routine solidly in place. If you start Pilates now, it will be one less thing to worry about in two months!

Why Not Start Pilates NOW?

We like to think of September as the beginning of routine, because that is when school starts. Back to reality, right? Summer fun is over, the kids are in school, work picks up again – why wouldn’t September be the next “perfect time” to start Pilates or Personal Training, eating better, that new hobby, or whatever you have been putting off?

In reality, the whole year is filled with holidays, long weekends, and vacations. Christmas? May Long Weekend? There is always SOMETHING waiting to disrupt your momentum. I’m not saying this to discourage you – I want you to see that NOW is the time to start that thing you have been putting off. And I want to help you start Pilates this Summer, when you have more time, the studio has extra time, the days are longer, and you have the most energy.

Starting NOW is always the best time, because it will only get easier, become more a part of your regular routine, and the next time a long weekend or vacation pops up? You will be ready to get going again, because fitness has become an integral part of your life.
