The latest Covid 19 orders (to restrict indoor fitness and other gatherings) hit me hard. We have had to adjust and adapt our lives in so many ways since March (where I live), and others have been dealing with it much longer. We’ve all had our ups and downs. But these latest restrictions took the wind out of me.
I just felt… exhausted.
But after I took a couple of days to gather myself and breathe, I got moving again with friends (socially distanced, of course!). And it helped a LOT. So I am going to push you to connect with others, too.
We All Need Connection
There are a lot of people who have come to realize that even if they are self-proclaimed introverts, human connection is super important to them. Not only that, but we miss it! We all need:
- Community
- Connection
- Kindness
- Movement
- Support
- Joy
I need it and you need it.
After I gathered myself last week, I ended up running with friends four times. Once in the city, one by the river and two in the trails. The fresh, clean, cool air, the challenge of the hills, and the company was therapeutic. I also did a strength workout with one of my daughters, and a Pilates workout with another.
In times like this when we might be feeling down and unmotivated, it can be very difficult to get up and get going. Yes, even for me! But the accountability and connection of others makes it easier. And it’s my goal in the b.Pilates & Fitness Studio and on the App is to help bring us together through fitness – even when it gets hard.
