What is it going to take for you to make time for yourself? For me, it took several stressful and grief-filled events to remind me how important self-care is. In my last blog post, I shared a list of the ways I am taking care of myself again. These things – relaxing, sleeping, eating healthier, and exercise – are big priorities for me right now.
That’s not to say that it has been easy! Having supportive people around me has been a great help for the day to day, and the accountability I’ve built into my workouts has kept me (mostly) on track. Even though I love fitness so much that I made it my career, I know that accountability motivates me to show up and get my workout in.
Since I am trained in Pilates and fitness, you would think it is easier for me to stay active since I have all of the tools. But having the knowledge doesn’t equal an iron will! If I’m not feeling well, or if I just “don’t feel like it”, it is hard for me to get motivated. So, I do about one quarter of my workouts alone, and the rest of them get finished because I’ve set myself up with outside accountability. I sign up for classes, make plans with friends, or check in with an online group class that I am part of. Knowing someone else is rooting for me, or waiting for me to show up is a great motivator.
I know how hard it is to stay on track, and how difficult it can be to motivate yourself. That is why I have created a Private Facebook Group for the bPILATES & FITNESS App subscribers. For only $15 a month, you not only get the ever-growing library of Pilates and fitness workouts that can be done anytime, anywhere, but a private group to keep you on track. In the group, I share exercise tips, keep you motivated, and answer your questions as they come up. Check in with others who are using the app, and share your stories. It is your own bPILATES & FITNESS studio – but online!
I want to help you make time for yourself because you deserve to feel good. I’m on this journey with you. Are you ready? Let’s go!
