I Want Fitness to BE Easy, not Just LOOK Easy

This past week, my family took a trip to Whistler, BC. In all of the craziness, we managed to catch the final races of Crankworx, which is a huge mountain-biking competition. We watched woman after woman knock their races out of the park – and they made it look SO EASY. With the live commentary and the specatators’ energy, I almost thought “hey, I can do that!”

Of course, I realized soon enough that simply because something LOOKS easy doesn’t mean that it is. I managed to fit in a few Pilates classes while away, and one of them focused on moving with ease; moving without tension in your body, and noticing when it was there. When you watch a Pilates class on Youtube, or if you practice a lot (like I do), Pilates can look very easy. This class reinforced how looks can be deceiving – much like the mountain biking race!

The movement class challenged me, despite teaching or practicing Pilates and movement daily. In attempting exercises that I rarely work on, I struggled. It made me wish that I did more Pilates (I know, I know!), or that I was integrating more strength workouts. That way, I could do these challenging moves with more control, strength, and ease the next time around.

Making Fitness Easier for You

Part of my fitness journey has been learning how a diverse workout can create more ease and better results in your favourite activity. I love a variety of fitness, but keep turning back to Pilates and running. To make both of those activities “easier”, I regularly add in strength workouts. Diversity makes us stronger, more flexible, less prone to injuries, and gives us better results all around.

I have always wanted my clients to have this well-rounded approach to their fitness. I’ve worked at gyms where members had access to daily classes with instructors, and coaches were accessible most of the time. As a boutique studio, this hasn’t been an option for my clients – until now.

This September, things are changing around here! Don’t worry – I will still be in the studio, offering personal training and Pilates classes. It is the b.Pilates & Fitness App that is changing! For only $15.00 per month, you will get fitness workouts AND Pilates classes via the App. Each class is a manageable 1/2 hour in length, giving you the flexibility to create the workout program that fits your needs. How easy is that?

Fitness is a journey, and one that is always changing. I am here for you as you navigate that journey, trying to make it as easy as possible – while pushing you to be your best.
