The other day, one of my clients mentioned how happy she is that she and her husband are working out as a couple now – and that he is loving it! Next up, she hopes he will give Pilates a try, whether it be in the Pilates Strong Men’s Series, or along with her in regular classes. This one seems to be a harder sell with the husbands. There is a misconception that Pilates is this dancy, flowing, girly workout, or that you have to be flexible to do Pilates. (You don’t!)
In the past few years, the number of couples that I work with has grown a great deal. It usually starts with one joining b.Pilates & Fitness, then the second joins in. The benefits of working out as a couple are huge, and I have the pleasure of seeing the changes in my clients first hand.
Life is busy, and it might not be feasible for you to attend classes together all the time, especially if one of you is enrolled in a series of classes. You might not even want to work out side by side! Even if that is the case, you will still feel the benefits of working out as a couple. I see my couples making it work in a variety of ways.

If you and/or your partner are new to b.Pilates & Fitness, we do a Fitness Assessment before starting personal training, or you start with the Introduction to Pilates classes before joining the regular classes.
The Fitness Assessment is a 20 to 30 minutes functional movement screening, that will help me design a program suited to you and/or your partner. This way, we can make modifications depending on each person’s needs.
For Pilates, you will start with the Introduction to Duo Pilates package, which gives you 3 Duo Sessions to get you through the fundamentals of Pilates. From there, you can move into regular classes or continue with Duo Sessions.
No matter the way you go about it, working out together will help you and your partner b.HEALTHY, b.HAPPY, b.STRONG!
